My instructions are rev. 06-15-2004 and I'm afraid they aren't current for the 2008 bike. The tach is not receiving the engine speed signal, but, the power is on. The tach harness that came from Harley was wired wrong and blew my abs module. The dealer techs scratched their heads to make the 3wire work with no success. The oscillation in the needle between 1800 - 3000 RPM can be as much as 500 RPM. So you do not have a clue about the actual engine speed.
